4 Day Private Garden Route Tour

4 Day Garden Route Itinerary

For 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 people

Luggage limited to one bag per person when 5 or more people travel in the same vehicle

If accommodation is booked by us, no additional expenses for the guide and his accommodation will be incurred.

ROOM RATES ARE SEASONAL SO THIS IS JUST A GUIDELINE

The total will include:

• Guide with air-conditioned vehicle and all necessary insurances and permits and toll fees
• Client accommodation and breakfast but no other meals or items of a personal nature.
NO Entry fees are included because the package is completely flexible. Clients can opt for what they want to do. But this list below is strongly recommended. Entry fees are approximately R100- R350 per person per day, or we can quote for the specific activities you choose.

Proposed Itinerary



Day One

Leaving Cape Town we drive through the wine towns of Worcester and Robertson to the Ostrich Capital of the World, Oudtshoorn where, after lunch, you may ride and ostrich and learn more about this fascinating pre-historic looking bird. At 4pm, you will join a tour into the Cango Caves, one of the most impressive cave networks in the world, and one of South Africa’s Most Unique National Treasures.

Overnight at Hlangana Lodge or at Boulders Guest House


Day Two

Optional early morning Hot Air Balloon ride to watch the sun rise over the Swartberg Mountain range.

Or join a farmer on his farm at sunrise to watch wild Meerkats at very close range.

Visit the JP Nel Museum in Oudtshoorn, dedicated to the Jewish people who established this town and the ostrich industry.

Morning transfer to Knynsa

Then a slow drive over the dramatic Outeniqua Pass through George and on to Knysna.

Lunch and then transfer to the Elephant Sanctuary for elephant back riding

Overnight in Knysna.


Day Three

Option One: Hiking at Robberg PENINSULA

Option Two: Visit Monkeyland and the Birds of Eden

Option Three: Dolphin AND WHALE Safari departing from Plettenberg Bay

Other options include Quadbiking in the forests, mountain bike trails, horse-riding trails, and canoeing on the Knysna Lagoon
OR A TOUR OF THE TSITSIKAMMA NATIONAL PARK (hiking and river boat excursions optional)

End the day with a sunset cruise on the Knysna Lagoon, or Bungy Jump from the Worlds Highest Bungy Jumping Bridge: BLOUKRANS


Day Four

Transfer back to Cape Town.

Stop at the Mossel Bay Diaz Museum Complex en route. 7 hour drive.


NOTE

Clients may extend their stay by one night with an overnight safari at BOTLIERSKOP outside George.

OR they may catch a plane from George to Johannesburg to continue their itinerary in the north (Welgevonden, Pilanesberg, Kruger, Madikwe)

OR they may transfer to Port Elizabeth and take a safari there, or catch a flight from there to Durban on the East Coast.


Conditions:

• Full pre-payment required before commencement of tour
• No refunds on cancellations within 30 days of tour, especially for accommodation booked
• Choice of accommodation at the discretion of Take2 Tours, although we only market ourselves with hotels that offer high standards
• All drinks, meals and items of a personal nature like phone calls and laundry are for the client’s account
• Entry fees are payable to parks and other places of interest that we visit but itinerary is flexible
• Any deviation or extension to the route will possibly affect this quotation

We can negotiate any itinerary, and if clients want a better deal, they should work on a daily driver/guide rate of R2250 per day for a vehicle and guide between 9am and 5.45pm, on condition that clients pay all entry fees on the day of the tour.
