Note !!! – whilst the itinerary below is recommended, our tours are tailor-made, so you tell us what you’d like to see and we’ll take you there !

Day One

Depart Cape Town either on the N2 or the N1 (depending on the Season) and drive through the magnificent Klein Karoo. Experience the beauty of this semi-arid area, with its red soils, its unique plant life and of course…..its thousands of ostriches….

Optional Port Wine Tasting in Calitzdorp, the Port Capital of Africa. Then tour one of the Ostrich Farms in area (where you can watch ostrich racing!), or visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch and have your picture taken with a family of Cheetahs!! Cage diving with Crocodiles is also optional!

Overnight at Rozenhof or Hlangana Lodge.

Day Two

At sunrise, experience the magic of watching families of meerkats awaken and go about their business in the Little Karoo.
For those of you who watch Meerkat Manor on TV, this is an opportunity to spend time CLOSE UP to these fascinating creatures.
These sunrise walks are conducted by field researchers and conservationists.
Amazing photographic opportunities.

Then, before lunch, we take you to the Mighty Cango Caves, probably South Africa’s Greatest Natural Wonder, and certainly the most impressive collection of stalagmites and stalactites you are likely to see….

In the afternoon we drive to Knysna, the Oyster Capital of South Africa, via the breathtaking Outeniqua Mountain Pass. Catch a sunset cruise on the Estuary if we are running on time. This is really the best way to see the famous KNYSNA HEADS which guard the entrance of the enormous “lagoon”.

Overnight at either The Log Inn, St James, Belvidere Manor or Parkes Manor.
