Cape Agulhas Tour – Southernmost tip of Africa
Cape Agulhas is the REAL meeting place of the two oceans (Atlantic and Indian). Many people like to think it is at Cape Point, but that is not completely true.
The drive to Cape Agulhas is highly recommended in Winter and Spring when the rolling wheat fields of the Overberg Region are bright green.
We charge R4400 for the day, for up to 6 passengers sharing the vehicle, includes driver/guide, air-conditioned vehicle, unlimited mileage and petrol. Cape Agulhas is at least 2.5 hour drive from Cape Town (one way) so we suggest that this, Africa’s Most Southern Tip, is added as an extension to any Garden Route or Whale Watching Tour.
On a Day Tour, we depart Cape Town at 7am. Clients will be able to visit the Lighthouse Museum overlooking the Southern Tip of Africa, and the monument where the Two Oceans meet.
En route back to Cape Town, you can stop for some wine-tasting at one of many excellent vineyards in that area. Or for those interested in museums, a visit to the Shipwreck Museeum in Bredasdorp, dedicated to all the shipwrecks that have occurred in the Southern Cape since records began, is well worth a visit.
One of South Africa’s most famous candle factories is also in the town of Bredasdorp http://www.kapula.com/
Lunching in the country towns is always a very quaint experience. There are usually lots of home-baked options.
If you decide to stay in the area overnight, you can extend the enjoyment of your visit with a walk to the famous Arniston Cave (Waenhuiskrans), or visit an authentic Old Cape Fishing Village.
Or just sit and read a book on the fine white powdery beach sand……next to the turquoise water.
Overnight accommodation, at an additional cost, can be reserved for you at the romantic Arniston Hotel & Spa.
